Professorship/Reader in Rehabilitation Sciences

This is an exciting opportunity to join a School which has a national and international reputation for the quality of its research and academic provision. It offers the opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team of staff and postgraduate students currently representing the largest
such grouping in the UK or Ireland within the Allied Health Professions.

The postholder will be expected to play a leading role in securing grant income for research projects based within the new Centre for Rehabilitation Research (due to be completed in 2006) and disseminate the findings of such projects as appropriate including publication in high quality peer-reviewed journals. She/he will be expected to contribute to research supervision, teaching and administration at postgraduate level, as well as commissioned research courses as appropriate.

Applicants must have significant experience in a relevant research area as well as a record of high quality refereed international publications relevant to Health and Rehabilitation Sciences Research submissable to the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise. For appointment at
Professorial level candidates must provide evidence of national/ international esteem and have had experience of successfully managing a research team comprising a number of principal investigators and/or senior staff.
