Refugee Action Group’s new immigration detention emergency helpline will be open to callers from 15 June 2009, the first day of Refugee Week. The line offers help to people who have been stopped and held under immigration powers and to those who witness somebody being detained. The number to call is 0800 840 0495.

RAG members, a Law Centre Policy Officer and an Immigration Adviser have been working with Law Centre admin to help RAG to manage the project of setting up the helpline, which the Law Centre has agreed to host for a trial period.
