Advice Changes Lives

Our LCNI adviser reviewed Diana’s Universal Credit award and explained how the rules should have been applied. Law Centre had lodged appeals in similar cases and following the outcome of the lead MJ Judgment, we guided Diana to request a Mandatory Reconsideration through her UC journal. We also liaised directly with Universal Credit on her behalf to ensure that the correct assessment was carried out and that any financial loss caused by the transition was properly addressed. 

Following our intervention, Diana’s Transitional Protection was recalculated correctly. She became entitled to over £2,000 in arrears, fully compensating her for the money she had lost during Managed Migration. This outcome brought much-needed financial stability and reassurance to Diana and her husband, demonstrating once again how expert advice truly does change lives.
