Law Centre NI seeks resolution for outstanding appeals and mandatory reconsideration requests  

Following this confirmation, Law Centre NI have contacted the Department for Communities to seek further information and clarification as to how this will applied to Northern Ireland. Furthermore, we have sought resolution from the Department for our outstanding appeals and mandatory reconsideration requests.   

Law Centre have today written to the Appeal Service to request that our case, stayed pending the outcome of the SSWP v MJ judgment, will now proceed as soon as possible and that the tribunal should now apply MJ in light of the authority of  HH-v-Department for Communities (PIP) [2024] NICom08.  

We will continue to push for the resolution of these cases and keep colleagues in the sector informed as soon as we receive a response.
