Law Centre NI Welcomes New CEO

Law Centre NI is delighted to welcome Eddie Lynch as its new CEO.  Eddie joins the Law Centre from the Office of the Commissioner for Older People where he has served as Commissioner for the last eight years.   Eddie takes up his new post at the Law Centre with a strong background in the voluntary and community sector having been CEO of the Age Sector Platform from 2008 – 2016.   Previously, Eddie was Head of Consumer Affairs at the Consumer Council.

Commenting on the appointment, Sean Donaghy, Chair of the Board of Law Centre NI said:

We are delighted to welcome Eddie as our new CEO.  Eddie brings a wealth of experience to the sector.  For the last 47 years, the Law Centre has used the law to advocate for social justice in NI and we look forward to working with Eddie as he leads our hugely impactful team in the vital work they do to uphold the rights of people across NI.”

Speaking after the announcement, Eddie added:

“I am thrilled to have been appointed as CEO of the Law Centre.  I have been very aware of the excellent work that the Centre does throughout my career, and the impact its work has for some of the most vulnerable citizens in our society.  I am passionate about social justice, and I look forward to working with the staff and trustees to continue to deliver real positive impacts on people’s lives.”

Eddie takes up his post on 6 January 2025.
