Statement from the Cliff Edge Coalition 

‘’The Cliff Edge Coalition are extremely pleased that the Northern Ireland Assembly has granted legislative consent to the Universal Credit (Removal of the Two Child Limit) Bill.

The removal of the two-child limit is a key ask of the Cliff Edge Coalition, and we have campaigned for many years to achieve this positive outcome. The removal of this policy will make a significant contribution towards the eradication of poverty across Northern Ireland.

We thank the members of our Coalition for their tireless efforts and thank the elected representatives and officials for their support in our campaign to remove this harmful policy. We look forward to continuing our engagement on this crucial matter to ensure that this change is successfully implemented and supports those who are most in need through a fair and robust social security system.’’
