Headnote
The Tribunal is required to take a holistic approach to assessing a client’s ability to plan and follow a journey through various means of transportation, including driving, travelling on foot and utilising public transport.
Case Overview
In this case represented by the Law Centre, the Tribunal failed to consider the impact of the appellant’s undisputed social anxiety on their ability to plan and follow a journey on public transport or on foot. This was contrary to the decision outlined in SB v SSWP (PIP) [2019] UKUT 274, that stated the Tribunal should take an overall and holistic assessment of a claimant’s ability to follow the route of a journey through various means, including driving, travelling on foot and utilising public transport.
