Thank you for your interest in working with Law Centre NI (LCNI). Established in 1977, Law Centre NI is a regional not for profit organisation that promotes social justice in Northern Ireland by using the law to change lives. LCNI provides free, independent and specialist legal advice and assistance to the public in employment law; social security law; asylum and immigration law and community care law.

LCNI is also a second-tier referral body for the advice sector and other voluntary and community sector organisations throughout NI and supports the sector with legal information resources and training. Our work spans initial legal advice and casework through to representation before the first-tier tribunals and higher courts, including strategic litigation that seeks to achieve progressive social change; public legal education; research and policy advocacy and the development of future social justice lawyers through academic partnerships and trainee schemes. LCNI is a member of the Law Centres Network.

This is a new post at LCNI. Reporting to the Senior Solicitor, the post-holder will be the lead employment lawyer in the Employment Rights Project which provides legal advice, assistance and representation to workers/employees in NI. The Employment Rights Project at Law Centre NI is supported by the Department for the Economy.

This post is an opportunity for the successful candidate to make a difference to peoples’ lives across NI and to contribute to the development of employment law rights through advice, casework, representation, training, legal education and policy advocacy.

The post is an opportunity for the successful candidate to make a difference to peoples’ lives across NI and contribute to the progressive development of migrant rights through advice, casework, representation, training, legal education and policy advocacy. The Head of Immigration Law will also focus on strategic litigation that achieves systemic change.
