Go Back

Our policy advocacy in this area focuses on protecting and promoting human rights of migrants, asylum seekers and refugees.

Particular policy priorities include:

  • preventing destitution
  • access to public services for migrants, refugees and asylum seekers
  • the right to work
  • trafficking and exploitation
  • a refugee integration strategy for NI
  • North-South immigration matters

We are a partner in the Vulnerable Persons Relocation Scheme (VPR) which was set up to support Syrian families who are seeking refuge providing legal information on social security and other entitlements.

Working closely with the Refugee & Asylum Forum, and through our immigration legal service, we ensure our advocacy is informed by direct experience. As the NI member of the Anti-Trafficking Monitoring Group and other forums, we seek to influence immigration policy at a UK-wide level. We are also a member of the Strategic Migration Partnership’s Immigration Sub-Group and we convene the North-South Immigration Forum.
